AGC and Northern Celebrate Anniversary and Introduce Super Energy Efficiency

ALPHARETTA, GA – JUNE 27, 2011 – AGC Flat Glass North America (AGC) and Northern Building Products, Inc. of Teterboro, NJ are commemorating their 28th anniversary of doing business together by joining forces and bringing to market super energy efficient aluminum windows and doors. Northern will now offer AGC’s U4 – 4th Surface Technology which will enable Northern products to provide up to a 20% improvement in energy conservation and comfort. The ground-breaking U4 coating is baked right into the glass while it’s still in its molten state at approximately 1100 degrees Fahrenheit. As the glass cools, the coating and the glass become one exceedingly robust glazing. Windows and doors that use U4 glazing will allow smaller, less expensive heating and cooling equipment in buildings. “This is an environmentally responsible decision that people can feel good about choosing,” says Northern President Robert Pecorella.

“AGC has supplied Northern with many millions of square feet of glass during their long relationship. Together we offer long-lasting products that reduce our country’s dependence on foreign oil,” says AGC representative Jill Betters. Coupling with that, AGC and Northern have experienced teams who assure dependable quality and personalized service and are dedicated to making each project successful. By developing new, flexible, and customized products to fit a variety of needs, AGC and Northern are maximizing energy performance and putting our people back to work by creating more jobs during these tough economic times.

Both AGC and Northern are committed to environmental responsibility and energy conservation. Together, they have been supporting super energy efficient renovation for environmental conscientiousness with world-class super energy-efficient products. Both share a dedication to environmental responsibility and energy conservation by developing products that may help projects qualify for valuable LEED points from the US Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design program.
