Northern Architectural Brings Light to Manhattan East Side Redevelopment

Essex Crossing Site 6 is part of a larger $1.2 billion initiative on the Lower East Side of Manhattan that has become one of the most substantial urban renewal developments in the history of New York City.

Northern Architectural Systems is proud to be part of this mixed-use building that will offer apartment living with a roof-top planted garden along with a New York University Langone Hospital Center and other community services.

Northern was chosen to provide windows and wall systems by the project sponsor, led by L&M Development Partners which has a long history of improving the neighborhoods in which it works.

The entire project, designed by Dattner Architects, will be LEED ND and NYSERDA certified, and comply with Enterprise Green Communities guidelines. In addition, Site 6 anticipates utilizing solar energy via photovoltaic panels on its rooftop.

Overseeing this endeavor, the New York City Economic Development Corporation and the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development
