NORTHERN ARCHITECTURAL SYSTEMS Chosen For Iconic McGraw-Hill Building in NYC

Diversified fenestration manufacturer Northern Architectural Systems has been chosen to provide over 3,000 custom windows as part of the overall rejuvenation of the iconic McGraw-Hill Building on 42nd Street in Manhattan.
Northern's design team worked closely with the building architect and the landmark commission to design a new window system that would replicate the original steel Campbell windows in close detail and incorporate high energy efficiency framing and glazing.
The McGraw-Hill Building was one of four New York City building projects designed by renowned architect Raymond Hood. It was given Landmark status because of its "Moderne" style and its unique use of blue-green glazed terra cotta tiles as an exterior façade.
Other Raymond Hood buildings in New York are the Radiator Building, parts of Rockefeller Center, and The Daily News Building which already has windows manufactured by Northern.
"We are very proud and excited to be part of this remarkable restoration project," said Northern President Robert Pecorella."It will be a long-lasting testament to the creative talent in our Design Engineering Department and is one more opportunity for Northern to help breathe new life into wonderful buildings that might otherwise fall into disuse & decay."
